Choose your assistant

The connection wizard shows availability independently for ChatGPT and Claude. Custom connector access depends on your host plan and workspace permissions. Follow the official illustrated host instructions linked in the wizard; no unverified one-click setup is advertised.

Authorize access

Native connections use authorization-code OAuth with S256 PKCE. The existing device authorization flow remains supported. Sign in to CommonQuant, review the requested scopes, then approve or cancel. Connection is confirmed only after an authenticated assistant request is observed.

Google and email login remain available. Official ChatGPT and Claude website sign-in stays unavailable until provider integration access and verification are complete. Website sign-in does not grant MCP access or transfer an assistant subscription.

Choose spending controls

The full connection approval tells you that paid tools will use available CommonQuant credits automatically when you request them. You approve this once during setup; there is no separate purchase or CommonQuant approval for each new research report. Existing per-action grants retain their earlier approval flow. The host may still ask for confirmation. Available credits and monthly MCP quota apply; no credit purchases are automatic.

Alert monitoring needs separate agreement on its conditions, frequency, duration, destination and ongoing costs. Generating a strategy alone does not activate monitoring.

Shared monthly MCP allowance

Free includes 20 units/month, and Max has no additional monthly MCP action cap. Existing Starter and Pro subscribers retain legacy allowances of 200 and 600 units respectively. These are shared across assistants. Credits and resource entitlements still apply. Usage resets at 00:00 UTC on the first day of each month, without rollover. Plan changes do not reset consumed usage.

• 1 unit: a new full ticker analysis unlock, a completed Quick Search or alert creation when available. Reading an analysis you already own and exact retries do not charge again.
• 10 units: strategy generation, deep research or thesis generation when available.
• 0 units: public previews, account checks, quotes, authentication, polling, exact retries, owned-result reads and stopping/deleting alerts.

Check live capabilities first

Use get_connection_capabilities for current availability and configured maximum prices. A normal ticker research request uses get_ticker_research to return the full published Advanced Analysis. With explicit automatic-spending consent, its first unlock deducts the published backend tariff, currently 100 credits, and uses one MCP unit. Reading an owned edition or replaying the same request does not charge again. A separate Quick Search can save an open-ended research question to your account for one monthly MCP unit and no credits; its result can then feed bounded Deep Research when that executor is available.

Strategy generation is temporarily unavailable through MCP while phase and cached-result billing are brought under enforceable maximum quotes. Thesis generation and new monitor activation remain unavailable until their service integrations are complete. The free demonstrations are simulations, not evidence that these tools are live.

• get_account_status: wallet, approved scopes and monthly allowance.
• get_ticker_research: full published stock analysis; the first unlock uses one MCP unit and the configured analysis price from available account credits.
• read_advanced_analysis: full published research by idea ID; a first read on a full connection automatically unlocks the pinned edition at the configured price, while owned reads and exact retries are free. Legacy quote and unlock tools remain available.
• start_research_search / read_research_search: save an open-ended question and read its owner-scoped result. A new completed search uses one MCP unit and zero credits; exact retries and owned reads are free.
• quote_deep_research / start_deep_research / get_deep_research_status: bounded owned-search deep research.
• list_notification_destinations / list_alerts / stop_alert: inspect or stop your existing monitors without spending MCP units.

Manage access and errors

Use Settings → Connected assistants to review access or revoke a connection. Sign-in methods are separate. Removing an identity must leave another usable login method.

Authentication, monthly allowance, credit balance and channel requirements are distinct failures. Blocked work does not start. Do not repeatedly retry exhausted allowances; inspect the reset time or account status. Status and stop controls remain available when monthly MCP units are exhausted.

Tool responses explain entitlements neutrally and link to informational account/setup pages. Accountless commerce is outside this signed-in assistant journey.

Abuse protection is separate from billable units: anonymous requests have small daily and per-minute limits; authenticated clients retain per-minute protections. Respect Retry-After for temporary rate limits.
