Unlike a one-day price drop, sustained ETF outflows are a measure of actual money leaving the market — $449 million in three days with the pace accelerating shows institutions are actively reducing exposure, not just pausing. Crypto-linked stocks like Coinbase and Marathon Digital act as leveraged bets on Bitcoin's price, so they tend to fall harder than the coin itself when flows turn negative. With a Fed rate hike all but assured next week, the macro backdrop gives investors little reason to come back quickly. The trade is to stay short these proxies until the outflow streak breaks decisively.
