Bloomberg reports short positions against long-term Treasuries are at 'extreme' levels, all premised on the Fed hiking on Wednesday — and more than 90% of that hike is already priced in. The single biggest driver of the selling is therefore scheduled, known, and nearly certain to arrive as expected, which is the classic setup for a 'sell the rumor, buy the news' reversal.
