Intel is losing server and PC share to AMD, so a bet on AMD rising while Intel falls can work even if the whole chip sector stays weak. That matters this week because AI-slowdown fears are dragging down every chip name together, and the market rarely distinguishes winners from losers during panics. A long-AMD, short-Intel pair strips out that sector-wide fear and isolates the company-specific story: one firm is gaining the exact customers the other is losing. If the sector stabilizes, the spread should widen toward the fundamentals.
