Usually a rate hike hurts bond prices, but this time bonds rallied because Warsh's blunt statement restored confidence that inflation will actually come down. A prominent strategist argues the hike was insurance against sticky inflation, not the opening of an aggressive tightening cycle, meaning the worst-case pricing may already be behind us. When the rate path becomes more certain, bond prices tend to drift higher as fear premium comes out. That makes intermediate-term Treasury funds a reasonable way to ride the credibility-driven rally while keeping interest-rate risk moderate.
