This kind of uncertainty in Europe tends to drive global investors to move their money into U.S. assets, which are seen as safer. As money flows into dollars and U.S. bonds, the dollar gains strength. A simpler way to play this trend is to bet on the U.S. dollar gaining value against the Euro.
Strategy approach
Build a long strategy for the US Dollar Index (DXY) using the ETF UUP on a H4 timeframe. Enter long when the 9-period EMA crosses above the 21-period EMA and the MACD line crosses above the signal line. Use a 2% profit target and a 1% stop loss.
