Megacap earnings hype is peaking — short-term options play to profit from a vola

Stock futures are rising into a heavily anticipated mega-cap earnings week, with Tesla investors notably anxious about the company meeting its short-term goals. Because expectations and stock prices are already high, actual company results will need to be perfect to satisfy the market. When expectations are this elevated, the options market tends to overprice the potential for a massive move, which often leads to a 'volatility crush' where option prices plummet once the news is out.
Strategy approach
Build an options strategy for TSLA, NVDA, and GOOGL that profits from high implied volatility dropping after earnings. Use short-dated (0-2 DTE) iron condors or credit spreads centered around the at-the-money strike. Enter on the close of the day before earnings (or current session if pre-earnings) and exit at the open or within 24 hours of the earnings release to capture implied volatility crush.
