Intel posted a massive earnings beat with improved forecasts, proving its turnaround is real. However, analysts are still cautious and the stock is failing to hold its post-earnings pop as the broader chip sector sells off. This creates an excellent environment to generate income by selling put options. You collect cash upfront for promising to buy the stock at an even lower price if it drops, which is an attractive proposition given Intel's newly strengthened financials.
Strategy approach
Build a strategy that sells out-of-the-money put options on INTC. Enter by selling puts at approximately 10-15% below the current stock price with 30-45 days to expiration. Target 50% of the premium collected as profit. Exit at 100% loss of premium if assigned or if INTC breaches a key support level.
