This comes on top of a rate-hike cycle, which history shows tends to dent stock prices, and JPMorgan warns that higher borrowing costs raise the bar for earnings just when expectations are highest. None of this requires the AI trade to collapse; it just creates an asymmetric setup where insurance on tech-heavy indices is cheap relative to the potential hit.
