Fed warns rates could still go up — gold holds strong while crypto faces a repea

Fed Chair Kevin Warsh is refusing to rule out further rate hikes despite cooling inflation. When bonds yield more, investors pull cash out of riskier bets — which is exactly why Bitcoin cratered 65% during the last hike cycle. Yet gold is holding firm near $4,000 because it is the classic hedge against both rising borrowing costs and broader economic uncertainty. This combination — sticky rate-hike warnings plus skittish crypto markets — creates a divergence that favors rotating out of speculative assets and into the ultimate safe haven.
Strategy approach
Build a rule-based strategy that enters long GLD on D1 when the 10-year Treasury yield (TNX) rises above its 20-day high and BTC-USD is down >2% on the same day. Exit if gold closes below its 10-day low or after a 21-day max hold. Include a 5% trailing stop.
