OpenAI IPO filing fuels AI hype — ride the chipmaker rebound
Thesis
With OpenAI officially filing for an IPO and SpaceX preparing to list this week, the hype surrounding artificial intelligence is boiling over. These mega-companies require massive amounts of computing hardware, which directly benefits the chipmakers that build it. As investors rush to get a piece of the AI boom, the stocks of these hardware suppliers usually see a sharp increase in demand and rising prices.
Strategy approach
Build a rule-based strategy that enters long NVDA on the daily (1D) timeframe when the price closes above the 20-day simple moving average (SMA) and the 14-day RSI is between 50 and 70. Exit the position if the price closes below the 20-day SMA, or set a 5% trailing stop. Focus on capturing momentum driven by AI sector enthusiasm.
