The AI buildout has been financed with enormous borrowed money, and now two stories in the same week show the bill coming due: OpenAI's own projections admit it will burn cash on a historic scale, and lenders are marking down Oracle's data-center debt. When the biggest AI customers signal spending strain, the suppliers and lenders who bet on that spending are exposed. Most investors are still treating AI names as untouchable, so any financing wobble gets punished hard — making Oracle a candidate for a short while the debt concerns are in the headlines.
