A $190 billion expected market-value swing means options market makers are bracing for an enormous move. When expectations are this extreme, the actual reaction often overshoots in one direction and then reverses as cooler heads prevail. A strategy that waits for the initial gap and then trades the follow-through — or a bounce if the selloff is overdone — can capture the volatility without having to guess the earnings outcome in advance.
