BlackRock launching a yield-generating Bitcoin ETF is a major signal that large traditional investors are cementing their long-term commitment to crypto. This new fund creates an incentive for a different class of investors to buy in, since they can now earn income while holding Bitcoin. Despite broader market jitters about interest rates, this specific product launch directly drives buying pressure on Bitcoin itself. We could see the price push higher as BlackRock ramps up the underlying assets for this fund.
Strategy approach
Build a rule-based strategy that enters long on Bitcoin via the ETF IBIT on a daily timeframe. Entry condition: buy when the price breaks above the 20-day Simple Moving Average (SMA) and the OBV (On-Balance Volume) reaches a 20-day high. Exit condition: sell if the price drops below the 20-day SMA for two consecutive days, or set a 4% trailing stop.
