Oil just spiked to $103 after Saudi Arabia pulled cargoes from Europe, a real physical-supply squeeze rather than just headline noise. At the same time the Fed chair is explicitly saying inflation is still too high, which means no rescue rate cuts that would cool demand — prices at the pump and in energy company revenues stay elevated. Big producers with low break-even costs convert that elevated oil price directly into profits and shareholder payouts. When crude holds above $100, energy shares historically keep outperforming a broader stock market that is worried about rates.
