The AI stock boom is unraveling fast, with the Nasdaq sliding and investors questioning whether AI companies can live up to the hype. When a market narrative breaks and sentiment shifts this sharply, selling pressure tends to feed on itself as investors rush for the exits. Companies like Palantir hitting 52-week lows signals that even the most popular AI names are losing their support. Rather than trying to catch a falling knife, this setup favors riding the wave of panic downward until the selling exhausts itself.
Strategy approach
Build a momentum-breakdown strategy on QQQ on the H1 timeframe. Enter short when price breaks below the lower Bollinger Band (20, 2) with RSI(14) below 35 and volume above the 20-period average. Exit when RSI crosses back above 45 or price touches the lower Bollinger Band from below. Use a 1.5% stop loss and a maximum 5-day hold.
