At the same time, a massive $53 billion takeover bid for PayPal shows that corporate dealmaking is alive and well, which directly feeds massive advisory fees for top banks like Goldman Sachs. When Wall Street is minting money on both trading volatility and advisory fees, their stock prices typically ride that momentum higher as analysts scramble to raise their profit targets.
Strategy approach
Build a rule-based swing strategy that enters long JPM, GS, and C on the H4 or D1 timeframe when their respective 50-period high is breached following a multi-day positive earnings surprise. Require the sector ETF (KBE) to be in a positive trend (price > 50-day SMA). Exit conditions: 10% trailing stop or 21-bar time-based exit.
