Inflation cools, growth stocks catch a bid — ride the tech rally

Traders were bracing for the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates again, which usually hurts fast-growing companies by making borrowing more expensive. However, the latest consumer inflation report showed price increases cooling significantly, matching the lowest levels seen in years. This surprisingly good inflation news immediately took the pressure off interest rate hike fears, fueling a sharp rally in technology and growth stocks. When the threat of higher rates fades, investors tend to pile back into the growth sectors that benefit most from a cheaper borrowing environment.
Strategy approach
Build a rule-based strategy that enters long QQQ on D1 when the 10-day moving average of the US 2-year Treasury yield declines by at least 10 basis points over a 5-day window. Exit if QQQ closes below its 20-day simple moving average, with a 21-day max hold and a 5% trailing stop.
