When massive AI companies like OpenAI and SpaceX go public, it shines a massive spotlight on the entire artificial intelligence industry. The companies that manufacture the actual hardware and chips—like Nvidia, AMD, and Broadcom—usually see their stock prices rise as investors rush to bet on the AI boom. Because these chip makers just sold off recently, they are now primed for a rebound as this IPO hype brings buyers back into the market.
Strategy approach
Build a mean-reversion and momentum strategy for semiconductor stocks. Go long NVDA, AMD, and AVGO on the daily timeframe. Entry condition: Enter when the stock's price is within 5% of its 20-day low AND the daily trading volume spikes at least 50% above its 30-day average volume. Exit condition: Sell if the price reaches the 20-day high, or set a 10% trailing stop to lock in profits as the momentum builds. Max hold period of 15 trading days.
