Flat futures show traders are waiting rather than positioning, which often means the market is underpricing the size of the post-announcement move. Rather than guessing which way stocks break, buying both a call and a put at the same price profits from a large move in either direction and loses only a small, fixed amount if the Fed threads the needle.
