The primary catalyst for this fear is the stalling of the AI boom, with Nvidia struggling to maintain its momentum. When the market's biggest leader starts to fade and professional short interest spikes, it usually signals a broader market pullback is imminent.
Strategy approach
Build a swing-trading strategy that shorts SPY (S&P 500 ETF) on a D1 timeframe. Enter short when SPY closes below its 20-day simple moving average AND NVDA closes below its 50-day simple moving average on the same trading day. Exit the position (cover) if SPY closes above its 20-day simple moving average for two consecutive days. Use a 7% stop loss on SPY price and a maximum hold period of 30 trading days.
