Cash App just turned on stablecoin payments for 60 million people — long Block (SQ)
Block (the company behind Cash App and Square) is rolling out a built-in stablecoin payment feature to all 60 million Cash App users by the end of this week. This is one of the largest mainstream crypto payment launches ever.
Idea
Cash App is rolling stablecoin payments out to 60 million users — 25% already have it, and everyone gets access by week's end. That instantly makes Block one of the largest distributors of crypto payment tools in the world, right alongside PayPal and Stripe. Stablecoin adoption is the biggest growth story in crypto right now, and having it embedded in an app people already use daily could drive transaction revenue meaningfully. If even a small fraction of Cash App users start transacting in stablecoins, it's a new high-margin revenue stream that analysts haven't fully priced in yet. COIN could also benefit as crypto trading sentiment gets a boost from mainstream adoption milestones.
