U.S. just legalized crypto perpetual futures — get in early on Coinbase and Bitcoin
U.S. regulators just gave the green light for crypto perpetual futures — a super-popular trading product — to be offered legally in America for the first time. Coinbase and Kalshi are among the first platforms cleared to launch them.
Idea
Perpetual futures are the most-traded crypto product worldwide, but until now they've only been available on offshore exchanges. Bringing them onshore to regulated U.S. platforms is a huge deal — it means Coinbase can capture a massive new revenue stream almost overnight. When exchanges add popular new products, their stock tends to rally hard as traders price in future earnings. Bitcoin itself could also catch a bid as easier access to leveraged trading attracts more participants. The regulatory clarity alone removes a major overhang for the whole crypto industry.
